Gothic Basin

Department of Natural Resources land

The trail to Gothic Basin is very steep in some places, and just plain steep in others. It branches off from Monte Cristo Road at twin bridges, roughly one mile down the road. I made an early-season trip to the basin in May. The snow made the trip all the more difficult, but the scenery was worth it.
