North Fork Cascade River

North Cascades National Park

The North Fork of the Cascade River has its headwaters at the foot of Cascade Pass, one of the most awe inspiring areas in the North Cascades. My intent was to hike to the pass, but the last five miles of the road to the trail were closed because of storm damage. So, I strolled the gravel lane instead, and experienced some riverside scenery I usually miss while driving.
